MESSAGE FROM THE FOUNDER

It’s with great pleasure that I welcome you to our site and invite you to explore the mission and purpose of The Trousdale Foundation.

Our dual purpose non-profit organization encompasses The Trousdale Living Communities (TLC), which operates senior care facilities around the country, as well as a separate non-profit, The Trousdale School, which is a post-secondary school for adults with intellectual disabilities, here in Cleveland, Tennessee.

For close to five decades, I have had the privilege of working “boots on the ground” in the senior life care business. It’s a most honorable profession, but is not for the faint of heart. I continue to devote myself, in good times and bad, to the well-being of our patients, their families and our employees. To provide our seniors with reassurance, care and stability in that most tender part of life.

The Trousdale School came to fruition organically as my wife, Judy, and I realized just how closely intertwined the needs of our seniors were to those of adults with intellectual disabilities. Our daughter, Sarah, who was born with Down syndrome, is its inspiration and Ambassador. We couldn’t be prouder of her and the manner in which she has blossomed. Sarah and her fellow students are joyful and have a purpose. Over the years, the school has outgrown any expectations and dreams we may have initially had of its success. We are blessed to be surrounded by a community that supports and encourages our endeavors. It is truly gratifying.

I hope you enjoy a tour of our website and please feel free to reach out to us should you need a solution for your aging parent or making plans for your future. We understand that growing old is a delicate subject. Our seniors deserve great care, dignity and respect.

We look forward to hearing from you.

God Bless,

Tom Johnson

Chairman of the Board
